Germán Soto Sanchez, an investment leader in the fintech space, will join Cloud9 Technologies as the Global Head of Corporate
Development. Germán most recently served as Executive Director and Leader of J.P. Morgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) Fintech team. He brings a proven record of leadership and successful execution of strategic investments, and will serve as a valuable asset as Cloud9 continues to expand internationally.
During Germán’s time at JPMorgan Chase & Co. he was a key figure in managing the company’s Fintech agenda and was responsible for identifying opportunities to partner with startups and innovators to address wholesale banking industry problems. As a member of the Strategic Investments Team, he focused on the sourcing, diligence, and execution of early-stage investments in areas including cybersecurity, financial messaging and communications, peer to peer payments, credit underwriting, market infrastructure, big data analytics, and capital optimization.
He also managed the JPMorgan In-Residence program, a six-month program targeted at supporting startups and entreprenuers and assisting them in solving complex Fintech issues.

Prior to JPMorgan, Germán spent five years at bank holding company CetrusHolding, where he held the roles of Senior Executive VP and Head of M&A and was promoted to CFO. As Principal at AIC Private Equity, he specialized in control investments in financial services and telecommunications, successfully raising over $250 million from investors. Previously, Germán was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Co. Inc., where he was a member of the Financial Institutions group, and a Senior Associate Consultant in the Principal Investments Group at Bain & Co. Inc.
Germán received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
